The Greatest Compliment
Someone bought a web domain and is hosting my illustration under the hilariously appropriate name, Vomit Party.
Thank you, kind stranger!!!

DIY Framing at Home
McGuyver-style picture framing at home: a few sticks of balsa wood, some glue, rubber bands, and a nail file (I used the file on the Swiss Army Knife, but that was a bit of a hassle). Just cut the frames to your desired length (4 inches in length on mine), sand down the cut edge so it's smooth, glue and clamp using rubber bands. Balsa wood is so light and easy to cut, this is a great starter kit for a home framing kit.

Infusion Confusion
A few friends and myself have experimented with infusing our own vodkas after tasting some tasty mixed drinks near our hood in Brooklyn. We wrote down a list of about 10 different recipes but then decided to test out three first.
Granny's Cure-All: Beets, dill, lemon and garlic
Spring Break: Cilantro, jalapenos, lemon and garlic
PB&J: Peanut butter, raspberries, peanuts and sugar
After a taste-testing with friends, it was decisively voted that Granny's Cure-All and Spring Break were actually very good with tons of potential (we added too much garlic basically). The PB&J was just not a good idea... but hey - you gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelet.
More to come when we bring out bolder and better flavors (Honey/Lavender, Bacon & Eggs, etc)... As well as a complete design overhaul!

Au Revoir!
Well folks, this is finally it: The end. One year is finally over. At the 239th post, with over 29,000 visits (and over 20,000 unique visitors) from over 129 countries, the Somethink Fun experiment has been a surprisingly great success (in my eyes, at least). I wanted to thank all of you who visited (even just once) - that means so much to me.
Creating something (almost) everyday was pretty difficult at times, and there are many horrific posts peppered about. But I'm not embarrassed - this site was a digital sketchpad to simply capture ideas. Since there was barely any time, these ideas were not well thought-out or developed into anything final. They were what they were: fun ideas.
I'll obviously be taking a break and traveling, but I hope to keep Somethink Fun as a creative blog in some fashion when I'm back in NYC. Any thoughts, opinions, or rants you'd like to make, please be my guest. I'd love to hear from you! And finally, I will leave Somethink Fun exactly how it started - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RHO!
Ciao,
Mattias

A very early post this morning as we move our things out of the NYC. This image is a sneak peak at what is to come post-trip and post-Somethink Fun. When? Who knows.....

Asia Trip
I can't believe it, but this Thursday will be the one year anniversary of Somethink Fun! To celebrate, I've included my 5-month trip to Asia, which will occur shortly thereafter. Above is an estimated map of the trip I'll be taking with my buddy Ryan, and potentially where we'll be spending our time. Plans change and we're not tied down to anywhere, so I'm sure the real map will be quite different. Also, I only included the larger city names, but we'll obviously be heading outside of cities as well. Sa-weeet!

Risk/Reward Mobile
Everything in life (even the bad things) must be done in moderation; you just need to learn to balance it all out. Quitting my job to go travel for 5 months in Asia come April 1st will begin a new balancing act for me, but one that I'd never pass up or regret. I can't wait!
